The club may vary the hours of opening in accordance with the requirements of the centre from time to time.

Register

All members are required to present their membership card at reception at each visit. Entry to the facilities will not be allowed if the membership card is not presented. This will ensure that your attendance is recorded and we are able to monitor the usage of the relevant areas of the centre.

Membership Cards

All members are issued a membership identity card upon joining. Charges will apply to replace a lost membership card.

Lockers

Your clothes and personal belongings should be kept in a locker at all times. Lockers are complimentary and are located in the male and female change rooms and in the ground floor hallway. Locker keys are issued at reception in exchange for your membership card or a set of keys for deposit. Coin operated lockers are also available. It is advisable to leave valuables (wallets, keys, phone etc) at reception for which you will be issued an identifying tag.

Exercise Attire

Tracksuit pants, shorts, T-shirts, Singlet’s or specialized exercise wear are recommended.

Suitable clean sports footwear is essential.

Jeans, sandals, slip on shoes and thongs are not permitted in training areas.

Behaviour

The following may result in temporary or permanent cancellation of your membership, without refund; offensive or abusive language, intimidatory behaviour or language, dropping of weights, abuse of equipment, dangerous behaviour, and failure to follow staff directions regarding use of equipment or facilities.

Age Limit

People over the age of 16 are permitted access to North Adelaide Fitness Centre however; exceptions to this rule are made pursuant to a consultation with a fitness trainer. Children under the age of 16 are not allowed in the club’s exercise areas unless otherwise authorized by management.

Family memberships are available allowing two school-aged children complimentary membership when two adults join on a 12-month membership. Both adult parties must live at the same address and the age of entry for the children is at the discretion of management.

Guests

Guests are welcome to use the centre upon payment of a casual visit. Guests must sign-in for their visit at reception and are subject to the conditions of entry.

The Wellness room is not available to guest members.

Towels

Towels must be used in all areas of the centre. Towels are available for hire in exchange for a deposit and payment of a hire fee.

Personal training

Personal Training is only available with trainers approved by North Adelaide Fitness Centre.

Group Fitness Classes

Entry to class is by ticket, which is issued a reception. Members are to inform reception staff if they are a beginner in the class so a VIP ticket will be issued to inform the instructor accordingly. Tickets are to be handed to the instructor.

Tickets cannot be reserved and will not be issued if leaving the building

To minimize the risk of injury to our members and guests, entry to classes will be denied once the class has been in progress for 5 minutes. Reception staff and fitness instructors may deny entry to class before this time in the case of classes that require set up of equipment.

Equipment used in classes is to be packed up and returned to the relevant storage area at the end of class unless otherwise directed by the instructor.

Participants must remain in class for the entire duration to reduce the risk of injury and avoid disruption of the class.

Members will not be allowed to collect entry tickets to classes of the same type, which run back to back unless there are available places.

Bikes cannot be reserved in the cycling studio.

Management reserves the right to alter the timetable at any time.

Gym

Return all weights, dumbbells and barbells to the weights trees and racks after use.

Collars must be used on bars at all times.

Do not drop weights.

Dumbbells and barbells are not to be placed on benches

Wipe down equipment after use

The use of a towel is compulsory to wipe down equipment and upholstery after use.

When resting, please allow use of the equipment by others.

The toning gym is an express lane therefore one set at a time.

Cardio Theatre

Please wipe down all electronic equipment after use

Please report any maintenance problems to reception. Do not attempt to correct any difficulty yourself

Please adhere to the 20 minute time limit on electronic equipment as a courtesy to other members

If you wish to listen to any of the selected television channels, please turn your receiver to the designated channel

Televisions and air-conditioners are to be operated by staff only. Please seek help if required

Wellness Room/ Personal Training Studio

Key must be brought to all training sessions

Towel must be used on all machines at all times and compulsory wipe down of equipment after use

Please allow others to use the equipment if you are resting or between sets

One set at a time

Personal Training area is not available to Wellness Members unless with a Personal Trainer

Please adhere to the 20min limit on all cardio machines

Air conditioner and fan to be operated by staff only, please seek help if needed

Wellness members are not permitted to use dumbbells or other personal training equipment unless it has been shown and is included in the training program.

Property Liability

North Adelaide Fitness Centre directors and their employees are in no way under any liability for the loss or theft of property belonging to members and guests. North Adelaide Fitness Centre provides lockers for use whilst on the premises.  We do not recommend that you bring valuables to the club. Lockers are to be emptied of your personal belongings before leaving the premises. Permanent lockers are not available.

The clubs liability is limited to the supply of the services.

Lost Property

Any property left at the centre of which the centre becomes aware will be placed in lost property. If property is not claimed within two weeks, it will be donated to charity if applicable.

Air-Conditioner and Fans

Air-conditioners and fans to be operated by staff only. Please ask for assistance when they are required.

Child Minding

Child minding is available for Member’s children only. Additional costs apply. Members must not leave the premises whilst their children are in Child Minding. A maximum 2-hour time limit applies. Child minding does not include feeding children but parents are welcome to nurse their child in the crèche. In the interests of hygiene and health, no children with a known illness will be admitted to the child minding area. If a child becomes distressed, parents may be requested to take the child into their care and remove them from the child minding area.

Alcohol

Consumption of alcohol on the premises is strictly prohibited except for specific functions.

Smoking

This is a “no smoking club”. Smoking is prohibited on the premises of North Adelaide Fitness Centre.

Facilities and Access

The club may vary the services provided for Members from time to time, in relation to hours of access, type of activity, and location of activity. The club may close or restrict any of the services from time to time due to member requests, changing use by members, maintenance needs or for any other reason in the sole discretion of the club.

Management will always retain total control over the standards, policies, and operation of the club including varying membership fees.

The directors and management reserve the right to determine matters affecting discipline, decorum, and harmony, including the right to censure, suspend, or expel a member at their discretion.

Closing Time

The club premises close at specific times. Members and guest are required to stop using the facilities fifteen minutes prior to closing times to allow time for showering etc.

Photography Policy

Photography and filming will be taking place from time to time for promotional purposes and images may be published on various mediums including Facebook, Youtube, and our Website.

Your presence will be deemed as approval of your image to be photographed and published.

Period of Membership

Membership shall be for the period set out in the agreement.

The membership fee, save the cooling-off period, is non-refundable.

If an automatic debit arrangement is in place, membership fees will continue to be debited from you bank account until the agreement is terminated as described in the membership agreement.

Cooling – Off Period

This agreement is subject to a 72-hour cooling off period commencing at the time of signing the agreement.

Notice of termination of the agreement during the cooling off period must be in writing signed by the member and delivered to the club by facsimile or post before the time and date of the expiration of the cooling off period.

Upon termination of the agreement before the end of the cooling off period, the club will return to the member any fees paid, less the following charges as applicable;

  • Workout
  • Exercise Screening
  • Exercise Screening and Workout
  • Any other use of the club
  • Administration charge

The refund will be paid by way of cheque within 14 days of the written termination.

Membership Entitlements and Obligations

The club shall provide the Member with services appropriate to the membership type set out in the agreement, during the term of the agreement.

The member brings property onto the premises at the Member’s own risk and the club shall not be liable for loss or damage howsoever caused.

The member agrees that whilst on the premises of the club (including car-parking facilities) that the member’s property and the member shall be there at the member’s own risk and the member shall not hold the club or its staff liable for any loss of or damage to the member’s personal property in the member’s control or custody.

The club may assign its rights and obligations under this agreement without notice to the member.

Members shall not be entitled to compensation for failure to use the services.

The Member covenants to pay any fees and charges payable under the agreement.

It is the responsibility of the member to ensure adequate funds are in the members account before the due date of any periodic debit. Any default in payment entitles the club to recover the arrears together with the following costs and charges

  • A late fee
  • Legal fees, court and bailiff fees, mercantile agent charges and all reasonable internal and external administration expenses incurred by the club.

Termination

Termination may be;

By the club: In the event that the member does not pay any fees and charges payable under this agreement, within 32 calendar days of the due date , the club may at its sole discretion terminate the membership. Upon termination all fees outstanding together with all fees due for the remainder of the minimum term (if applicable) together with outstanding charges shall become immediately due and payable without further demand.

By the Member: After the minimum term has expired a member who has an ongoing membership may terminate the agreement by written notice to the club, providing notice of one clear month from the date of the notice being delivered to the club.

Request for termination of this agreement are to be responded to within 7 days of the request being received.

Assignment of membership

The member (other than restricted members) shall be entitled to assign the rights and obligations under this agreement upon the written approval of the club, in the sole discretion of the club and on the condition that the assignee pays the transfer fee and enters into a new agreement with the club and satisfactorily completes an exercise screening.

Voluntary Suspension

A full member may apply to voluntary suspend their membership by delivering a written request.

Voluntary suspension is only available to members with a 12-month term, which is paid up to date.

Voluntary suspensions will be granted for a minimum period of 1 week and a maximum period of 4 weeks (6 weeks for gold members) and in the case of direct debit memberships, it must be in 2 week periods.

Members who have paid their membership in advance will have the voluntary suspension period added to their term membership.

Members on a direct debit membership who have not fulfilled the minimum term will have the suspension period awarded at the end of the minimum term.

Increases in fees

After the minimum term, the club may at its discretion increase fees payable for any further term.

If the club elects to increase the fees, the club shall send to the member written notification 45 days prior to the increase.

Terms and conditions are subject to change at the discretion of management.

 These guidelines are in place to make your workouts and visits enjoyable, time efficient and worthwhile.
